Let the day trips begin!

Saturday was the first nice day we have had in quite a while. The sun was out and the temperature got up to about 54. I got the urge to head out on a day trip with my Nikon.

Gayle and I like to just hop in the car and head somewhere. Sometimes we just wing it like this Saturday and sometimes we plan an overnight trip to somewhere within a few hours drive. We like to check out new places that we haven’t been and it feeds at least two of our habits, food and photography. We like to check out different restaurants and I like shooting pictures of different places.

Because we only had the afternoon on Saturday, we decided to drive around Northwest Connecticut. Even though we have lived here for over 30 years, there are still lots of places that we have not seen that are hidden down some street that we have not been. And some great food just waiting to be tried.

We drove around Morris, Bethlehem, Woodbury, Salisbury, Canann and a few other places. We ended up eating at Manacos in Winsted. Even though we have eaten there before, it’s been a while and we knew we wouldn’t be disappointed.

Great day, great trip some nice pics, and a great dinner. I just love the day trips! Any good places that we should explore?
